Glass is nothing without a light. The same applies for our eyes. Moreover, if these elements are working
fine we tend to ignore them entirely and we usually start to perceive them only in case something is wrong.
I used a theme of vitreous opacities - eye defects, twisted lines floating in vitreous - to point out this analogy.
